Meeting called to order at 7:43pm, 14 Members Present

Old Business

Gordon read the minutes, no errors or omissions were noted.

The ASCC clothing is being investigated.

The Speed Sport East show is in April and we want to make an appearance. Kevin Partridge and Wayne Pitts are interested in taking their Rally Car. Debbie will investigate contributors to create handout materials.

Presidents Report

No former presidents report was provided.

Membership Report

In Jasons Absence, Debbie accepted memberships, a number of members signed up. Additional memberships were received from the ASCC Rally on January 29th.

Treasurer Report

Brian Jarvis was not present, but forwarded the financials.

Bank Account: $9,646.02 (all outstanding cheques cleared)

PayPal Account: $98.33

Race Report

Brad Sellars and Derek Lugar are travelling to VIR for a race in March.

John Davies, who purchased a formerly campaigned Saturn, was present and discussed racing at AMP for the upcoming season.

The Spec Miata series is going ahead with two cars built and hopefully more on the way. They will get their own race with 8 cars or more, similar to the SRR class.

Ian Pearce mentioned the possibility of advertising races on Kijiji as targeted advertising. Advertisements are cheap at $25 or so. Ian made this a motion, Mike Barker seconded. All in favour.

The AMP AGM is February 27th, 12 noon at Kartbahn. All are welcome, though only member clubs can vote.

Brad Sellars inquired about the discussions around transponders, Debbie indicated that they have been investigated, but couldn’t be justified financially.

Rally Report

Gordon provided a rally report touching on the recent CARS AGM where an emphasis was placed on the safety of events, particularly as it pertains to spectators.

The first event of the national Calendar was two weeks at with the Rallye Perce Neige Maniwaki, local competitors Bruce Beveridge and Daphne Sleigh participated in the even with Jonathan Conrad and Brian Partridge providing crew services. They finished a difficult event very well, finishing 24 out of 42 cars overall, 6 of 16 in Regional and 1st overall Novice.

RallyCross continues with the numbers at the last event hampered by the Perce Neige rally, only 3 competitors participated. The next event is February 20th at AMP.

Ian provided a report on the ASCC Supposed Snow rally on January 29th. 14 teams participated and all enjoyed themselves. Local journalist Garry Sowerby participated (And finished 1st novice) and he and his wife each wrote articles in the newspaper concerning the event.

Solo Report

Neither Jason Smith nor Taylor MacArthur were present.

Some discussion took place regarding the fact that ASN Canada has yet to post 2011 GCRs for Slalom. Colin Wilmshust wanted clarification that Snell 2000 helmets are still valid for Solo events, (they are).

New Business

Ian Pearce attended the ARL beginning of season meeting. ARL is continuing motorcycle racing efforts this season. Superbike is experiencing some organizational and financial issues, but so far is continuing as expected.

Swap Shop

Gordon still has a Miata for sale, well prepared and perfect to be built into a Spec Miata, see the ARMS forum for detail.

Bruce Buntain is looking for 5×114 wheels as well as storage space for a vehicle until Spring.

Mike Barker is looking for a wagon of some sort as a daily driver, he has a Great Dane and needs something suitable to haul it.

Brad Sellars has some stock SRT4 suspension parts available.
