February 12 2013 Minutes.
Meeting called to order 7:38. 18+ members in attendance.
Membership report through Feb 12, 37 so far for year.
Treasurer’s report $16 759 in in bank, three cheques outstanding including $1000 to AMP, 150 for website renewal and $1637 to CARS/ARMS for fees and time attack licences. Paypal balance not available. Upcoming expenses include purchase of an additional timing light set and MVI and license on trailer. Debbie will ensure that insurance info for Exec and non speed events comes to the club.
Solo: Brian spoke with AFRA about hosting slalom & time attack. They declined to run a regional slalom. Taylor is working on use of tarmac at Debert for a slalom. If Debert is available, May 4 in may be a school instead of a slalom in Sackville, with a regional in Debert on the 5th. Current available lots are the Stoneridge Fellowship church in Sackville and Scotia Speedworld. Course setup for slalom will be handled by the solo committee.
Inquiries are being made to move Digby Double to July 6 & 7 to avoid conflicts with timing and scoring and many entrants being involved in a Rally on the current scheduled weekend. This is awaiting confirmation from Digby officials.
There is a performance rally conflicting with the Aug 24 slalom, so solo committee members are looking into moving the slalom to Aug 20 at Scotia Speedworld.
Race report: Transponder system has been purchased, and funding has been through the assistance of ARMS. Transponders can be rented or purchased from the club. Race committee are still working out car # policy in regards to medical id and proper assesment of penalties. Blu V. has donated a laptop for use of timing and control officials.
There has been discussion of having a Vintage car invitational race on a Saturday prior to a Sunday raceday. Also of splitting race days to a 2 day weekend, splitting up once day’s racing over 2 days and adding some classes.
