ASCC Executive Meeting September 7th, 2010, Riverside Pub, Bedford Executive Members present: President: Debbie Miller Vice President/Membership: Jason Smith Treasurer: Brian Jarvis Secretary: Gordon Sleigh Race Director: Brian Gay (Not Present) Rally Director: Gordon Sleigh Solo Director: Taylor MacArthur (Not Present) Member/Directors at Large: George Sheppard, Bill Anwyll, Umberto LoPresti (Not present) Meeting called to order at 7:05, 5 Members Present Old Business A discussion took place concerning AMP track rentals under ASCC insurance. Discussions regarding what representatives must be on-site and what marshal stands must be occupied. All on-track drivers must be ARMS Lapping/Sprint or Race licensed. The differences between a 'tune and test' and 'lapping' was discussed as to what category the potential track renters fall under. It was determined that a list of track retail requirements (marhsals, MRT, etc) be established and a second list of ASCC charges for the club to provide coverage for a track rental. A 30 day minimum notice was suggested. A group of individuals are interested in renting AMP for September 17th, A rate structure was discussed and Derek Lugar will be contacted by Debbie Miller. Presidents Report No formal presidents report was provided. Membership Report ARMS reports 147 members accounted for from ASCC. Jason will verify whether or not any additional regional levies are due. Treasurer Report Cheques were signed since Brian Jarvis and Gordon Sleigh will be out of town. This will cover the Slalom events on September and the ASCC sponsorship of the AMP Pig Roast. The PayPal account was accessed and it was found to have $8152.xx. Brian Jarvis had to leave early and didn't leave a total for the Chequing account. Race Report Debbie has continued to talk to Legends drivers. The Medical requirement is a sticking point for Legends racers. Debbie was considering offering a Test and Tune event to Legends drivers to give them a taste of the track, negating requirements for medicals, at least initially. The Canfield Memorial race this year will be held under Regional racing requirements but as an AFRA event to be organized. The race accounting processes and how they vary between organizing clubs was discussed. Papertrails and uniform procedures need to be enforced across the region. Rally Report The BAC RallySprint #2 took place in August with 9 teams and 4 cars participating. The event was very successful with only one car not running at finish. The next event will be October 31st. Solo Report The SoloSprint event scheduled for last weekend was postponed due to Hurricane Ear. The new days will be September 18/19th which was formerly a Digby Slalom date so this lot now needs to be moved. Only one cancellation was received for this date change. Taylor MacArthur and Jason Smith have been talking to the property owners at Convergys in Truro about using their lot, possibly on October 13th or possibly even this Sunday. Moncton is scheduling a club slalom for September 19th but this conflict is unavoidable. The lot is approximately twice the size of Leons. New Business The AGM is confirmed to take place at the Quality Inn on Kearney Lake Road. Sponsorship ideas are being sought. Debbie will contact King Insurance, Kartbahn will likely be sponsoring Meeting adjourned at: 8:44pm Todo:
