Presidents Report No formal Presidents report was presented. Membership Report 1 new membership at Slemon (Mark Obermeyer), Bill accepted another few memberships at the lapping session on Monday. Approximately 130 members total. Treasurer Report Jason needs a $900 cheque to ASN for a 2 day School/SoloSprint on the 14-15th in order to upgrade lapping licenses to SoloSprints for the Sunday competition day. Debbie asked if we were up to date on ARMS levies for memberships. Jason indicates we're beyond our 50% deposit to ARMS. The process of paying ARMS (invoice or voluntary) has not been made clear by ARMS. Taylor indicated that a member has contact him indicating that ARMS has not cashed his race license cheque which he submitted to ARMS a number of weeks and months ago. This member received a 'cool' response from ARMS concerning the delay. Race Report No race was held in July due to the double event in June. The next race is the third weekend of August. A discussion took place regarding the Legends cars and interest in running an October race. The Legends participants are leaning towards having this be a points event in their series, however this poses logistical issues within their rules. Taylor indicates that Paul Blenkhorn has been spearheading this movement. Jason indicated that if the interest can be confirmed we'll make it happen, no matter what. Rally Report BAC held its first RallySprint of the season on July 25th. 11 teams in 5 cars entered. There were unfortunately 3 retirements within the first two stages. 4 teams continued to the end in a Honda delSol and Audi Quattro. Results: 1st McNutt/Alchorn 2nd Pearce/Driscoll 3rd G. Sleigh/Dine 4th D. Sleigh/Jarvis Solo Report The proposed waterfront Slalom event, organized by Bill Anwyll, has been called off. Negotiations were taking place with the Halifax Waterfront Development Corporation, but an agreement could not be reached between them and the lot owner. AFRA ran a lapping session on Natal Day Monday with 6-7 students and 24 lappers. A discussion took place regarding the dates and schedule of SoloSprint events for the rest of the year. Financials, volunteers and competitors were addressed. Taylor indicates that the Debert airfield is under new management and suggests that Jason contact them again concerning facilities rentals. Slalom at Slemon took place last weekend in PEI. 55 entries. ASCC entrants placed very well, as always. New Business An ASCC member has asked to rent AMP under the ASCC policy as a birthday surprise for a BMW club member. As such the interested party doesn't want to rent the track through the BMW club. Conducted as a lapping session, all attendees must be ARMS club members and hold sufficient lapping licenses. $750 a day for AMP and $225 for insurance. Per lapping rules Marshals must be on 2,5,9,11 and Tower. Administration fees for track rentals conducted by ASCC were discussed, dependant on the level of club involvement. AGM Report We're leaning towards the Quality in at $90/night on rooms, $35/person for Banquet. Conference rooms at $500 a night. Locals who don't require rooms from ARMS would get free banquet tickets. ARMS has no further budget for the event other than rooms. Meeting adjourned at: 9:01pm Todo:
