ASCC Executive Meeting March 2nd, 2010, Riverside Pub, Bedford Executive Members present: President: Debbie Miller Vice President/Membership: Jason Smith Treasurer: Brian Jarvis Secretary: Gordon Sleigh Race Director: Brian Gay (Not Present) Rally Director: TBD Solo Director: Taylor MacArthur (Not Present) Member/Directors at Large: George Sheppard, Bill Anwyll (Not present), Umberto LoPresti (Not present) Meeting called to order at 7:19pm, 5 Members Present Old Business A discussion took place among the executive concerning the ad-hoc requirement by Taylor McArthur regarding rollover protection for open-top cars in the upcoming ASCC hosted Evolution Slalom school. A recommendation was made that these decisions be discussed with the executive prior to being made public in the future. Jason will contact Taylor MacArthur regarding the process in the future. A discussion took place concerning the situation involving Jamal Campbell. A formal apology is to be expected within 30 days of the last discussion (February 22nd) which, failing that, will result in expulsion from ASCC. A letter to this effect will be drafted and communicated to Mr Campbell ASAP. A discussion was brought up by George regarding helmet admissability in SoloSprint events with confusion being whether or not M rated helmets were allowed. Presidents Report No formal presidents report was provided with most discussion taking place under Old Business. Membership Report Jason has a large number of memberships to process. A membership total is forthcoming. Treasurer Report Bank balance, $8694.98 with just over $600 in PayPal 2009 year end totals is ($2000) overall for year end. A discussion took place concerning the potential profit/loss likelihoods of the ASCC events scheduled for 2010. HPDSes are expected to be profitable, Sprints will hopefully be profitable but are potential losses, Slalom should hopefully break even. The ASCC Race school is an unknown until we determine the involvement of the Region. Race Report There has been very little interest expressed so far in the ASCC/Regional Race School, we will attempt to shake the bushes to see if there is any interest in this school. Rally Report The BAC RallyCross schedule continues, no TSD rallies are currently scheduled until summer due to lack of organizers. The BAC RallySprint events will kick off again in June with a date to be set shortly. ASCC will be hosting a viewing of the Targa Newfoundland 2009 TV coverage at the Riverside Pub on Saturday at 1pm. Targa has sent along some giveaway prizes to be raffled off. Ian Pearce has yet to remit expenses for the ASCC rally, a discussion took place on how much is a fair rate to cover organizers expenses. A figure of $1/km was discussed. A formal discussion of a fair amount will take place with Ian at the general meeting. Solo Report Brian Partridge expressed interest in helping out the ASCC Solo Director, possibly in a formal position. Jason will discuss this with Taylor MacArthur and possibly make formal arrangements. New Business The ASCC regisration for Joint Stocks was signed by Debbie and will be submitted. Jason Smith is planning to attend the Moncton SpeedSport show on the 25th of April with his race car representing ASCC. The executive has agreed to pay fuel expenses for the trip.
