Membership Report 120-130 members or so. The amount owing to ARMS in levies needs to be determined. Treasurers Report Balances $17143.43 Bank and PayPal Combined Outstanding $700 to AMP for July SoloSprint $345 to Digby Several small cheques are still outstanding to various members. Some tow-fund money is pledged to Alan Coles and Brian Gay for travel to the CAC Nationals in Quebec. Brian Jarvis had some questions for Jason about why the SoloSprint pre-registrations are coming in varying amounts. This is due to people cashing in marshalling credits and those paying for both the school and SoloSprint. Race Report No race took place in July after the June double regional. The next race event is August 22nd at AMP. There was some question about the race charge for the second driver at race events. The Race committee had a conference call on the topic and it was agreed to produce a breakdown of costs outlining why the extra charge is necessary. If the extra driver charge is waived then rates would have to go up for single drivers. In the interests of promoting the race weekend, no lapping will be taking place before the SoloSprint this weekend. This will serve to divert lappers to the Saturday of the race weekend and get people at the track and exposed to racing. Rally Report Gordon provided an update on the RallySprint event which took place on the 25th of July. 11 drivers and 5 cars entered but with a high attrition rate for the entered Subarus. All three were out due to non-event related mechanical issues after the first two stages. Bruce McNutt and John Alchorn went on to win the event in their Honda delSol and Ian Pearce/Maria Driscoll, Gordon Sleigh/Tim Dine and Daphne Sleigh/Brian Jarvis rounded out the finishers in 2nd, 3rd, 4th respectively. The next navigational rally event will be October in Bridgewater to be determined. Solo Report Brian Gay and Alan Coles gave a report on the CAC Nationals this past weekend in Quebec. Atlantic Canada was well represented with a number of drivers from NS and NB. Brian Gay finished 2nd in BSP class with a close finish. Brian and Alan did a strong sales job to convince central Canadians to attend Slalom at Slemon in 2011. A discussion took place around motivating folks from away to attend our major events. The next ASCC Slalom event is scheduled for August 29th at Scotia Speed World. This event is a known, but unfortunate, conflict with the BAC RallySprint #2. Jason is investigating the possibility of moving this event to Saturday, the 28th instead. Jason announced that the Admiral Digby Inn is under new management and is eager for business. Jason has been in negotiation with them to hold a marquee event next year to rival Slemon. This weekend is a SoloSprint event at AMP, the preceding Saturday will be a SoloSprint upgrade school which will allow lapping license holders to upgrade to Sprint. Jason reminds everyone that marshal credits are good at this event. Slalom at Slemon took place two weeks ago, Brian Gay took first in BSP class, Gordon Sleigh took first in CSS. Trevor Gray bested his father, Alan. in their Bullitt Mustang. Joel Nelson won DSP class. Various other members did well in their respective classes. A discussion took place concerning the ASN rule book and the fact that it appears to have changed, unannounced, after it was posted in January. Changes were made to classing of vehicles which affected a number of local competitors. A discussion was also had about whether or not PAX/PAF factors are reasonable to be used at club, regional and national events. The downtown waterfront event has been quashed by the lot landowner. The matter is considered closed. AGM Report Alan Coles has been making arrangements with the Quality Inn on Kearney Lake Road, he attempted to arrange meeting but has had scheduling issues. He has all the requirements concerning rooms and space required and will present this to the management to try to arrange a favourable rate. Entertainment is also being arranged, no details are ready for distribution yet. AGM dates are still November 12-14th. New Business Brian Jarvis showed a copy of 'Winning, the Racing Life of Paul Newman', a book that he highly recommends both for content and photos. Bruce Buntain was present to provide an update about his exploits in Asia. Bruce indicates that he will be present on the 22nd for the TRAC race event. Frank McCarthy provided some stories from the past. Meeting adjourned at: 9:04pm Todo:
