ASCC Club Meeting February 9th, 2010 Executive Members present: President: Debbie Miller (Not present) Vice President/Membership: Jason Smith Treasurer: Brian Jarvis Secretary: Gordon Sleigh Race Director: Brian Gay (Not present) Rally Director: Bill Anwyll (Not Present) Solo Director: Taylor MacArthur Member/Directors at Large: George Sheppard, Bill Anwyll (Not present), Umberto LoPresti Meeting called to order at 7:40pm, 14 members present. Presidents Report As the result of the ASCC AGM in January, 70kg of food and $328 cash to the Metro Food bank. Jason would like to thank everyone to attended the AGM and thanks to Brian Jarvis for taking care of the Food bank donations. Membership Report Many memberships were collected at the Musqodobit Madness rally in January. No membership total is avaiable currently. Treasurer Report Over $19,208.02 in the chequing account with some uncashed cheques to go. $628.84 in the PayPal account. Race Report Debbie Miller is no longer the ASCC Race Director, that position has been accepted by Brian Gay. Ralph Brooks was present and provided an update about the Regional Race committee call, but no significant updates were ready to report. Some discussion took place concerning proposed Red Flag procedures which will be formalized before the start of the season. Rally Report The ASCC Musquodobit Madness rally on January 30th was a smashing success with 22 entries. Ian Pearce thanks all the entrants and volounteers. Hopefully we can keep up this rally momentum. The position of ASCC Rally Director is open as Bill Anwyll has chosen not to re-offer. Several candidates have been considered and are being approached. Dave Hull is not able to organize the scheduled February Snow What Rally meaning the next Regional event is the Bluenose rally in June/July. Actions are being taken to try and have some club level rallies organized in the interim. Solo Report Taylor MacArthur is the new ASCC Solo Director and the calendar of 7 events has been set. Jason Smith, Alan Gray and Scott McIntyre have been in talks with the Evolution Performance Driving Schools to come and perform a 2 day session in May. Pre-registration is being collected now on the ARMS forum. Four SoloSprints will take place in 2010 with several driving and lapping schools. Jason has unfortunately heard that we will not be able to use the Debert airfield in 2010, despite promising contacts with the now departed manager of the facility. New Business Bruce Buntain was present and presented some stories from his experiences in Asia. Swap Shop Ralph Brooks has a friend who has a number of 16" Volkswagen wheels, still in box. $75 each. Dave Hull may need a set. Bruce Buntain is looking for a 5x4.25" RWD offset Chrysler rims for a '69 Chrysler. Bruce also has 7 Datsun 240Zs for sale in various states that he's bringing up from California. Ian Pearce is still trying to sell his Volvo 240 Turbo Coupe. Meeting adjourned at: 8:21pm Todo:
