Race/AMP Report Next Tuesday (July 21st) will be an AMP Work party before the Parts Canada Superbike race. A list of work required will be provided, but the Gravel trap in 9 has been weeded already. Prep work needs to be done to the barriers before painting. There has been lots of controversy about the cancellation of the July race. ARL has come forward and is interested in organizing acombined car/bike race under their own insurance. This has caused concern within ARMS but the decision was made not to sanction ARMS drivers who may participate in this event. The July 31st weekend date of this event conflicts with Slalom@Slemon. ARL Car insurance would be handled through NASA. With the September Moncton race and the October 11th Canfield Enduro this would make for 3 races in 3 weeks. Questions around whether or not there would be points involved, officially sanctioned, etc, are still undetermined. The August ASCC Race is still on. 5 individuals have talked to Jason Smith about interest in an High Performance Driving School but no deposits have been received yet. Discussions took place about offering an HPDS and determining the format of the school depending on the number of students which place deposits. This school would be run in conjunction with a regular ASCC lapping session on Saturday with a regular Friday evening session. Rally Report Gordon provided a report on the BAC RallySprint event which took place on Sunday. Two cars entered with 5 drivers total with one car retirement due to an oil pan/rock interaction. The event was considered to be a great success and everyone is looking forward to Event #2 on August 16th. This weekend is a SoloSprint/Lapping double header weekend which will be repeated next weekend. National SoloSprint Toyo Tires and Talon Tire have joined the SoloSprint as Platinum/title sponsors. Minor product donations and two sets of R-Compound tires will be donated, one for the overall winner and one for a general competitor draw. Perry Auto have agreed to be a sponsor with details to be determined. Steele Auto have come on as a Gold sponsor. Alan is collecting names of people who have rooms available for SoloSprint boarders. Targa Newfoundland will be contributing prizes as a sponsor. A tow fund is being discussed but general concensus is that the lower entry fee accounts for an implied tow fund.
